We started off the day by going to Gym with Mr. Costa.
When we returned we read the morning message, fixed all the capitalization mistakes and then recorded our plant observations and the temperature on the graphs.
After recess, we did a review of division. We looked at the two ways of writing a division sentence. We then solved some simple division problems but drawing a picture to show the equal sharing of items and then we looked at that same picture and wrote a matching multiplication sentence.
After lunch, we did some Science activities. Grade 2's looked at animals and had to classify them what type of animal they were. They then had to write a response to the good and bad parts of keeping animals in a zoo. Grade 3's reviewed the parts and functions of plants and then looked at a variety of plant items we eat and they had to identify which part of the plant it comes from. While students were working on that, we planted our sprouting seeds in soil and watered them. We also brainstormed spelling words for this weeks lesson based on our Science words.
After recess, we made a list of our brainstormed words, copied them into our Spelling notebook and then chose words to learn by putting them in alphabetical order, syllable, rhyming words and sentences.
Reminder: Thursday is our trip to the zoo, and Black Creek Pioneer Village!
