We started off the day with Gym.
After Gym we did some writing in our Journal, many had not completed the previous days assignment.
After recess we did the math activities. See yesterdays post for details.
After lunch we worked on our Acrostic Poems. Students had to choose one poem to publish for presentation outside the classroom.
We have read several chapters of our novel. Edward was rescued from the dump by a dog named Lucy and has been travelling the rails with his new friends Bull and his dog. They were happy for many years, and Edward got a new name, Malone. They had great times together, until they are caught catching a ride on a train, and Edward is kicked into the ditch.
In Social Studies we talked about where we are in the world. We reviewed the hemispheres, and continents, and then talked about countries, provinces, cities, communities, schools, right down to our location in class. We visited Google Earth to get a sense of what that looks like as one moves closer and closer to a specific location. We copied down our location in order from farthest ( earth) to nearest location ( NW corner of class).
HOMEWORK: Find examples ( 10) of 2 dimensional shapes at home... see what shapes besides rectangles you can find.
